Sanitizing Machine procedure (It’s just a dishwasher!  No fear!):

How to sanitize:  Grab some clean towels and the toys/items that you are about to sanitize and place them on the kitchen counter near the sanitizer.  If the machine isn’t already steamy and hot, turn on the machine and run an “empty wash” to bring the temperature up to a sanitizing level.  {To do this, first check the (left)  button in bottom right corner of machine to see that it’s set to “Fill”.  (It will either say “Fill” or “Drain”). Then press the door handle “shut” (you will hear a click) and the machine should automatically run.  After about 5 minutes - or when machine goes silent, and you see steam - it is ready to use.}  When ready to sanitize, dump and spread the dirty toys/items on the machine racks (hard grey plastic racks).  Look for large chunks of play dough, or stray items that should not go through machine and remove/dispose of them.  (Coffee stir sticks are safe to put through.)  Once you are ready to clean the toys, load all the racks you are using (maximum room for 3), and shut the door (press handle in so that it clicks).  Machine should automatically run.  Place a clean towel on the bottoms of the bins that toys came in, and when machine cycle is over, return toys to bin(s).  Put toy bins back where they came from.

Every once in a while the machine should be run on the “Drain” cycle.  If you look at the round sieve-like area under the bottom rack and see grayish/murky water, the machine is due to be drained.
